Meditation

Being Present

Meditation is the practice of paying attention to the present moment. Often we are preoccupied by the future or caught up in the past, while life is happening in the now. One can also think of meditation as the art of observing one’s thoughts without judgment.

Prominent companies and leaders have recently begun embracing various meditation techniques. Oprah Winfrey, for instance, delivered the 2015 “Harry’s Last Lecture” at Stanford University, in which she explained the importance of a spiritual practice in becoming the best person and leader that we can become. Another approach, encapsulated in a video called Locating Yourself – A Key Conscious Leadership, states that in order to be a good leader, we must be deeply connected with our inner selves: open, curious, and committed to learning.

Alchemus Prime applies a variety of styles of meditation from different traditions to offer benefits such as calmness, mental clarity, purposeful intention, stronger intuition, and reduced stress, anger, and anxiety. Many of us suppress our emotions when we are stressed because we think we will appear weak; research indicates that suppressing emotions amplifies them, leading to low self-esteem, pessimism, poor health, depression, impaired memory, and difficulty in social situations. Meditation helps bring awareness of emotions without attachment, so we may acknowledge and release our feelings, leading to more calmness and happiness, which in turn improves productivity.

We offer mindfulness meditation exercises, guided visualization, and Reiki (see video – “What is Reiki Healing?”), a chi-based stress reduction technique that can activate healing on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Through the Alchemus Prime Diamond Model, we leverage meditation as an essential tool for clients to connect with their integrity, tap into their inspiration, and act consistently from a place of authenticity.

Some of the tools of ritual include candles and incense, often used to create a calm and reflective mood for meditation.
Some tools, such as incense and candles, can be used to create a calm and reflective mood in the home for meditation; a regular meditation practice translates into more focus, clarity, calmness, and efficiency at work.
